Your fiber connection terminates at an Optical Network Terminal (ONT). The ONT converts light signals on Avative’s fiber into the wired Ethernet your home network uses. ONTs can be standalone (paired with a separate WiFi router) or integrated into an all-in-one WiFi gateway, depending on the installation and plan.
Bring Your Own Router (BYOR): If you prefer, you can connect your own WiFi router to the ONT instead of using Avative-managed WiFi equipment. Keep in mind that Avative-managed WiFi adds enhanced diagnostics, optimization, and support via our tools.
